Our CHS 2023 College Bound Tour students are off and, on their way, to visit 8 CA colleges. Hope they have a fabulous trip and tours! More info on our College Bound page. Congratulations to the four Class of 2023’s scholarship recipients: Annika H, Grace B, Angel V, and Khanh H.. Each will receive a $500 scholarship which we will send directly to their school of fall enrollment. Thirteen scholarship essays were received for consideration this year. The Foundation scholarship committee, without knowing the names of the writers and using a scoring rubric, evaluated the submissions in response to the prompt. We appreciate the thoughtful essays and wish each and every Senior success in their next endeavors. Our final meeting of the school year will be tonight 6/6/23 at 6:30pm in room 203. We have several open positions and smaller jobs as well. We also welcome Members at Large to join us and help support in any way you have to offer. All contributions, collaborations and new ideas are welcome and appreciated!! Meetings are open to everyone; guests are always welcome. For more information, please view our New Board Positions and Descriptions document. Hope to see you tonight or at a meeting soon! Email [email protected] for more information or to express interest in supporting the CHS Foundation and Clairemont High School. Last week the 10th graders in the health and medical academy completed the Sea World Rescue Center field trip supported in part by a grant from the CHS Foundation.
The students are very grateful and had an amazing time! The education director was very generous and gave them wristbands to attend any show and attend the rides even though we had not signed up for or paid for that part of the experience! Students heard from the rescue center’s curator Kim Peterson who also happens to be CHS alumni! Their veterinarian and pathologist also shared information and showed them specimens. The attached photos are some of the pictures from that experience. We are happy to help teams, clubs and academies with grants as needed!! |
