Greetings Class of 2020:
The Clairemont High PTSA and Foundation want to let you know that the Scholarship Essay Contest is still going on and encourage you to apply. Here are all the details you need to know:
Four $500 college scholarships are being offered to current Seniors
Students interested in competing for this scholarship must thoughtfully consider the following:
“How have I made a positive impact and been involved in my school and/or community during my high school years. How do I see myself making a positive impact and being involved in my community in the future.”
All essay submissions must be typed and double-spaced, 750 words maximum
Essay submissions should be emailed to email@example.com. Please include a cover sheet with your name, email and phone number. If you know the college you are planning to attend in the Fall of 2020, please include that info on the cover sheet too.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 1, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.
The four winners will be announced by May 15, 2020.
Scholarship monies are paid directly to the student’s college of attendance.

Our next Spring Fling planning meeting is Monday 3/16 at 5:30 at Bull's BBQ. I have arranged a walk through of Brick by Brick for 6:00.
Anyone interested in helping with the Spring Fling (5/29) or if you have any questions, please join us this Monday at Bull's BBQ (1127 W Morena Blvd) . We will start our meeting there and then walk over to Brick by Brick (1130 Buenos Ave.) to finish up.

Happy New Year!
The Clairemont High School Foundation has become an essential support tool in maintaining all the enrichment and educational programs and activities at Clairemont High School.
We are now requesting your support for our Spring Fling Fundraiser.
The Foundation is devoted to providing funding for grants to athletics, including sports unfunded by the school district. We help the band, drill team, ASB and drama departments. We support our student leaders, journalists, public speakers and spirit teams and provide scholarships to students.
Much of this success is only due to the active donations and support from people and organizations like you! We are thankful for your support of our student community. Just as you rely on the support of the families of our community to make your businesses prosper, the families of Clairemont High School rely on your support to help our students prosper. We need your support to continue creating engaging opportunities for our students to grow into talented, motivated and compassionate contributors to their community and their world.
We can do this with the support of our community – YOU!
We are looking for product donations, gift certificates for services, cash donations for our auction, event and raffle. In appreciation of your sponsorship of $100 or more, we will place your logo/business card on our website and recognize you/your business throughout the school year, as well as give you a ticket to our Spring Fling on May 29, 2020 – a fun night of music, food and Celebration of Community Participation!

ANNUAL SPRING FLING

Enjoy free food, music, dancing AND the opportunity to be a ROCK STAR
as Clairemont takes over Brick by Brick for the night! A stage, sound system and great basket items to bid on make for the “FUNNEST” way to raise money in support of the enrichment of our children’s high school experience.
Tickets are $20 and available at the door or online
($5.00 of each $20 ticket can be donated to your club or team of choice.)
ADULTS ONLY (21 and older)
Tickets for CHS Staff and Coaches are $10!
We have beautiful Gardens on our Campus and we could use your help!

Even accomplished beggars have their limits. We are working diligently on our third garden and the money has run out. We got serious help from ASB, a grant from the Master Gardner’s Assn., a grant from the CHS Foundation, a pallet of soil from Kelloggs and four Rover loads of compost from the Mushroom farm. Martha has caught on to my use of the VISA for school projects and microwaved my card while I was napping. We are putting in three new raised beds, four benches and eight connected planters on Saturday. We will be installing two BIG planters connected with a bench in the main garden by the pond in the weeks to come. We need wood and stain for one large planter and one small one in the newest garden, some small trees for the seating planters, and a load of brown mulch for the ground not taken up by planting beds. Your donation of $25 will be recognized by a engraved 1” X 3” plaque that reads Donated by (your name) to be placed on a bench or planter box in the new garden. Your donation of $50 will be recognized by an engraved 2” X 3” plaque with up to five short lines of text of your choice. Your donation of $100 will be closely followed by my fainting ungracefully into your arms. Thanks for your consideration.

What is the “WINTER ROCKS” event?
The purpose of the Winter Rocks event is to create camaraderie throughout the CHS campus by bringing together the students, the staff, the administration and the community through a healthy and engaging event that raises community spirit while raising funds to support the students and the various programs they are offered at Clairemont High School.
Students receive an email link that outlines the details of the event and requests sponsorship via a paypal donation on the Foundation website. Students can email the sponsorship request to friends and family.
**The class to raise the most money wins a pizza party on the 20th**
On December 13 Students will be lead to the stadium to participate in a variety of Pep Rally- like activities led by ASB. Each student that participates on the track will receive 3 raffle tickets (in addition to raffle tickets they earned through donations)
One to vote on the Administrator that will have to dye their hair for school on the 20th: the Principal, Vice Principals or Athletic Director.
One to vote on which teacher they want to go to lunch at Luce’s (4 winners)
**Teachers must wear Wacky Winter Wear to participate in the Event.**
One to enter a raffle for various prizes (winners chosen after the walk)
