The CHS Robotics Team, The Clairemonsters, continued their impressive season with a standout performance at the Southern California State Championship Tournament in Anaheim this past weekend. After advancing through the qualifying rounds, the team earned the title of alliance captain, something reserved for the top-performing teams at competitions. They then went on to finish 4th place out of all Southern California teams. Competing against some of the most well-resourced and experienced programs in the region, CHS demonstrated exceptional resourcefulness, skill, strategy, and teamwork at every stage of the competition.
Throughout the season, CHS Robotics students have gained hands-on experience in real-world engineering - designing, building, programming, and continually refining their robot under pressure. Beyond competition, they also mentor local middle school robotics teams, helping inspire the next generation of STEM leaders. Their success this year reflects not only technical ability, but dedication, collaboration, and countless hours of hard work of the team, coaches, and mentors.
The Clairemonsters couldn’t have done this without the help of the community! They need more student participants and donations to continue competing in future seasons! Robotics is for everyone, whether you like math, art, marketing, physics, or teaching, just to name a few of the roles on this team. Robotics is also an impressive addition to resumes and college applications, and joining will give students real hands-on experience in multiple fields.
