History of the Scary Houses Map:
CHS Foundation started this Halloween Map during Covid when CHS, all schools, and everything was closed.  Two of the CHSF board members wanted to create a way for students and families to get out of their houses during quarantine and enjoy Halloween, safely, from inside a car or with a mask outdoors (remember those days).  It brought a lot of joy to the Clairemont area during the pandemic at a time when we needed it the most.  During quarantine, it was a contest with voting and prizes that brought even more fun to the effort since nothing else was happening and a lot of people participated in the viewing and voting.  The map continues on because the people who decorate (CHS families, alumni, feeder school families and even local residents with no connection to CHS) enjoy sharing their displays with the community.  The map has always been FREE to everyone even though it's no longer a contest.  CHS Foundation does receive some donations from it which is a big help in supporting our MISSION to Support All Things CHS.
